It is necessary for you guys to register your nickname. This is so other people can't use it, and so you always have access to it.

1. To register your nickname, in any chat window for IRC, type the following command:

/nickserv register desired-password your-email

An example of this command would be:

/nickserv register iloveacy3 kjgmusic@gmail.com

2. Now, whenver you start a new connection to the server, you have to type /identify your-pass, or it will give you a generic nickname. You can either do it manually each time, or follow these instructions so it does it automatically:

3. Go to Tools > Options.

4. In the menu, go to Connect > Options, and click Perform.

5. Tick 'enable,' and in the box type in the command:

/identify YOURPASS

6. Whenever you connect, it will auto-identify for you. Enjoy!
